One day I was going to Hobbytown, and saw that they had a little track set up in front of the store. I saw people driving these little cars (about 1/2 the size I was used to), and they looked great! Upon closer inspection, I found that they were 1/18-scale, and were almost exactly like their larger counterparts.
This little 1/18-scale electric car was the first 1/18-acale vehicle I bought. I bought it new (I think it may have been my second new R/C vehicle...).
I ran this at the track during practice a few times. It moved pretty quickly. Soon I got bored of driving it by myself, and I bought another one used from someone on eBay. It was in pretty good shape, and came with 3 bodies (I'll try to get some pictures later).
I bought a bunch of PVC pipe and connectors, and proceeded to set up a track in my driveway. It worked pretty good, but I think I'd like something bigger. Delta R/C has dismantled their on-road track (replaced with a dirt oval), so I'll have to get my on-road fix somewhere else... :(
